Aboutthe Role
We are looking to recruit a skilled Water and Environment Senior Project Manager as part of our plan to realise growth. The role will operate as part of the Energy and Sustainable Cities Business Line and will report to the Water Project Management Delivery Lead for the UK.
As Senior Project Manager, you will have knowledge and experience in pre‑ and post‑contract management in NEC 3 or NEC 4 ECC form and procurement within the UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sector. You will utilise major project experience and knowledge to drive efficiencies and effective supply‑chain engagement and contract management.
There will be opportunities for progression between UK water, environment, rail or nuclear sectors.
Location & Working ArrangementThis is office‑based in the Midlands, four days a week, with one day working from home.
P3M CM CapabilityOur new Project, Programme, PMO and Commercial Management Capability (P3M CM) UK, Ireland and Europe team is undergoing a transformative phase. The P3M CM Function at Egis is deeply committed to boosting strategic operations and overall efficacy by:
- Developing a premier capability and team
- Proactively engaging with markets and suppliers
- Streamlining and enhancing operational workflows
- Achieving results through strong commercial policies
- NEC3/4 Option A, Option C, Option E ECC contract management and administration client side
- Budget control
- Collaborating with the QS on payment valuations and certifying monthly payments under ECC and PSC forms of the NEC 4 contract
- Actual cost forecasting and defined cost determination in collaboration with the QS
- Establishing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring appropriate project management records and commercial records are maintained in line with the contract requirements and overseeing any contractual issues
- Investigating and drafting contract communications and notices including early warning notices, notification of compensation events, general communications in line with best practice
- Conduct initial project scope planning, cost estimates and feasibility studies
- Preparation of tender documentation
- Evaluation of tenders
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with contractors early in the design phase
- Manage and administer construction contracts
- Monitor project expenditure and manage cash flow
- Lead the evaluation and negotiation of change orders or variations
- Claims and dispute resolution
- Final accounts and post‑project evaluation
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree qualification in a numeric degree
- Full membership of a chartered body such as APM or MAPM
- A wealth of experience postgraduate in rail, nuclear, water and/or environment
- Line management and recruitment experience of project managers or assistant project managers
- CDM regulation knowledge and experience
- Risk management experience
- Valid CSCS card, with a water hygiene card desirable
- Main contractor and/or joint venture experience working client side
- An experienced user of the NEC3–4 suite of contracts (A‑C‑E must have)
- You must have the right to work in the UK
