About The Role
Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving positive safety culture? Join us on the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project and play a key role in supporting one of the UK’s most significant engineering and environmental programmes. We’re looking for a proactive Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HS&W) Advisor to guide and support our project team, helping us deliver our work safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with standards.
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Partnering with the Project Site Management team to ensure all operations are planned and delivered safely and in line with HS&W requirements.
- Providing expert advice on current H&S legislation, company standards and project-specific compliance.
- Supporting risk assessments and helping to prepare safe systems of work.
- Promoting a positive safety culture aligned to our core principles and Golden Rules.
- Monitoring, recording and reporting HS&W performance for both our teams and subcontractors.
- Actively challenging unsafe behaviours and conditions and driving continuous improvement.
- Leading and supporting near‑miss reporting and improvement observation processes.
- Conducting high‑quality investigations into incidents, near misses and events, identifying lessons learned.
- Delivering project inductions and supporting HS&E training alongside the Training Coordinator.
- Collaborating with HS&W colleagues, partners and client representatives.
- Participating in reviews and updates to the Project HS&S Management System.
- Maintaining a strong on‑site presence, coaching and supporting personnel across the project.
We’re looking for someone with strong technical knowledge, practical site experience and a commitment to shaping a safe, learning‑driven working environment.
Essential Qualifications & Experience- NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma, C&G or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of a professional body such as IOSH (TechIOSH / GradIOSH).
- Experience preparing technical inspection and audit reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong background in incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Confident user of Microsoft 365 and online databases.
- Experience working in multi‑discipline engineering construction environments.
