We are looking to recruit a Transport Planner or Assistant Transport Planner to join our Transport Planning team in Exeter. You will work across modes to support the development of transport schemes and projects from inception through to completion.
Responsibilities- Contributing to a variety of projects and proposals (both technical and commercial inputs) and delivering high quality outputs in line with client requirements.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team; collaborating with other WSP service lines to deliver large multi-disciplinary projects from concept to delivery.
- Playing a supporting role in securing and delivering work for our large local client portfolio.
- Contributing to the financial performance of your projects and the commercial performance of our team.
- Making an active contribution to WSP's four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Expertise).
You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Net Zero, Future Mobility and Freight growth areas on a range of innovative strategies for our public sector clients, as well as our extensive range of expertise practice groups, including Public Transport, Active Travel and Transport Communications.
Our clients include developers, Local Authorities, Sub-National Transport Bodies and Combined Authorities, giving you the chance to work in a range of roles, across multiple disciplines, and realise your career aspirations.
Qualifications- Prior experience in transport and mobility planning and design, and transport data analysis.
- Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Experience of working with the development planning sector.
- Understanding of project management skills developed across a range of transport and multi-disciplinary projects.
- Creative, innovative mind‑set, lateral thinker.
