Position: Surveyor, Underground (Fly-In Fly-Out)
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Underground Engineering, you will be part of the Engineering Department. You will primarily be involved in the accurate measurement and recording of the progression of mine workings, further ensuring the recorded information is translated onto mining plans in a clear and timely manner. Given the remote location and the scale of operations, you may need to expand their scope of responsibilities, for example by undertaking surface survey work, and demonstrate proficiency and autonomy in the relevant domains.
You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Install laser stations and complete regular survey updates for all development headings underground. Ensure all said information is transferred onto the appropriate mining plans and made available to the end user(s) in a timely and efficient manner;Produce a bi-monthly reconciliation of the mine-wide development meters and associated volume excavated from the underground workings;Complete regular void scan surveys of the production stopes in various stages of the stope cycle in order to monitor production status, using the available technology (CMS, UG Drone);Carry out hole collar pick-ups, breakthrough checks and gyroscopic surveys for long-hole production drilling to support drill and blast technicians in designing and timing stope blasts;Develop and contribute to the development of standardized work procedures of surveying activities;Perform surface surveying tasks that may include: staking and tracking for roads, civil, piping, and earthworks projects, conducting water elevation surveys, marking drill patterns and field limits, performing drone aerial surveys, monitoring dykes and dams and surveying ore and waste stockpiles;Stake out and survey the location and orientation of diamond drill holes;Promote Health and Safety by participating in Departmental Health & Safety oriented activities.WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEEDCollege Diploma in mining, civil engineering or geomatics;2 years of experience in underground surveying (production mining context);Underground surveying experience;Surface surveying experience is considered an asset;Expertise with survey equipment (total station, GPS, CMS, Drone & rover);Knowledge and experience with Deswik and AutoCAD software are considered an asset;Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
