As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of high-volume, cost-effective, and reliable fire detection products. This position focuses on the analysis and decomposition of stakeholder requirements into a well-defined set of product requirements, and to architect robust, scalable fire system solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity, traceability, and alignment with customer and regulatory expectations throughout the product lifecycle.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the decomposition of identified VoC needs into clear stakeholder requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and technical issues.
  • Create and maintain detailed product design documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and interface definitions.
  • Ensure traceability from requirements through design and verification
  • Integrate system engineering practices with digital engineering Product Life-cycle Management tools (Enterprise Architect and Jama).
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., product/project management, features/product engineering) to ensure alignment on technical requirements
  • Support technical reviews, audits, and customer engagements.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems engineering processes and tool chains.

Essential Qualifications/skills required:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or have suitable Fire Industry experience.
  • Significant experience and a full understanding of Systems Engineering, the V-Model and associated processes/life cycles.
  • Significant experience of developing high quality requirements and establishing a fully compliant product design.
  • Experience in writing high quality technical documentation and the formal technical review of such material.
  • Substantial knowledge of System Engineering practices, methodologies, processes, techniques and fire product trends.
  • Experience of hands-on development of either hardware, software or firmware development, particularly in Fire Industry Products
  • Experience of JIRA, JAMA, Enterprise Architect Tools
  • IET or INCOSE recognition
