Environmental Lead

A successful civil engineering contractor operating across the UK and undertaking civil engineering projects across a variety of different sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy and rail is looking to hire an experienced environmental professional to undertake the role of Environmental Lead in their busy QHSE team based in Ipswich.

This role will be both office and home working along with travelling to various sites, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

• To support development of the environmental strategy for the business
• Lead on the delivery of the environmental and sustainability objectives.
• Lead on environmental data management, analysis and reporting including energy and carbon reporting
• Ensure business compliance with environmental legislation and regulations across a range of projects
• Support projects and provide environmental advice and with regard to design, legal compliance and construction
• Lead audits and inspections working around ISO 14001 and PAS 2080.
• Look for opportunities to drive improvements and deliver training where required
• Act as a point of contact for environmental matters with key stakeholders including clients, contractors, and regulators

• Demonstrate environmental experience, within the construction, utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering, or related sector.
• A professional membership with a recognised environmental body (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM)
