Taylor Woodrow is seeking a driven and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major highways infrastructure projects across the Exeter region. Reporting to a Project Manager or Commercial Manager, you will lead on all commercial aspects of your project section—ensuring financial performance, strong contractual governance, and proactive risk management. This is a key commercial leadership role suited to someone who thrives in complex civil engineering environments and enjoys building strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.

Duties
  • Lead all commercial aspects of highways projects, protecting the company’s contractual and financial position.
  • Manage procurement activities, including subcontract tendering, evaluation, and appointment.
  • Prepare and manage valuations, invoices, cost reports, forecasts, and cash-flow.
  • Oversee change control, ensuring variations and compensation events are identified, valued, and recovered.
  • Monitor project costs, identify risks and opportunities, and drive efficiencies.
  • Administer subcontracts, including payments, instructions, re-measurement, and final accounts.
  • Support project start-up and close-out processes, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
  • Mentor junior commercial staff and foster strong relationships with clients and supply chain partners.
Person Specification
  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong civil engineering or highways background.
  • Excellent knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management best practice.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders.
  • Proven track record managing subcontract procurement and commercial reporting.
  • A collaborative mindset aligned with Taylor Woodrow's values of trust, respect and teamwork.

Full Time - 40 hours - Monday to Friday
