An established and design-led fire engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an Associate specialising in Facade Fire Engineering to join its London team.

This is a senior appointment within the business, focused on the fire performance of external wall systems, high-rise compliance and strategic advisory work under the Building Safety Act regime. The role combines technical authority, client leadership and involvement in the continued growth of the facade fire discipline.

The Role

You will provide high-level technical oversight and direction on facade fire matters across complex developments including high-rise residential, commercial towers, mixed-use schemes and major refurbishment projects.

Working closely with architects, developers, facade contractors and regulatory bodies, you will shape fire strategy relating specifically to external wall construction and materials.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading facade fire strategy on major developments

* Advising on cladding systems, insulation products, cavity barriers and fire stopping solutions

* Supporting Gateway submissions and engagement with the Building Safety Regulator

* Reviewing compliance against Approved Document B, BS 8414,   135 and associated standards

* Providing technical review of facade-related fire modelling outputs

* Acting as a senior point of contact for key clients

* Overseeing project delivery standards and mentoring engineering staff

* Contributing to bids, proposals and discipline growth

Requirements

* Significant experience in facade engineering with a strong focus on fire performance

* Typically 10+ years’ experience within consultancy

* In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations and post-Grenfell compliance frameworks

* Experience delivering high-rise and complex urban projects

* Strong client-facing capability and leadership presence

* Commercial understanding of consultancy project delivery

Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
