A growing fire engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join its Derry office. This is a permanent opportunity offering exposure to technically challenging projects and clear progression within a respected consultancy environment.

The role is suited to a fire engineering professional with a minimum of 4 years' consultancy experience, confident delivering projects with increasing autonomy.

You will support and deliver performance-based fire engineering solutions across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed‑use developments. You will be involved from concept design through to completion, working closely with architects, developers and multidisciplinary design teams.

• Assisting in the development of fire strategies across multiple building types
• Undertaking fire modelling (CFD, evacuation modelling, smoke control analysis)
• Producing technical reports and supporting documentation
• Reviewing architectural drawings and advising on compliance
• Liaising with clients, contractors and approving authorities
• Attending project meetings and representing the fire discipline
• Supporting senior engineers on complex projects

• Minimum 4 years' experience within a fire engineering consultancy
• Degree qualified in Fire Engineering or related discipline
• Strong understanding of UK and/or Irish Building Regulations
• Experience using fire modelling software (e.g. FDS, Pathfinder or similar)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
• Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable but not essential.
