As a result, alongside several consortium partners, Balfour Beatty has been selected by bp (British Petroleum) to construct a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage, which is a key driving force behind plans to make Teesside the UK’s first decarbonised industrial cluster.
Balfour Beatty is seeking Riggers to contribute to our Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
- Reading, interpreting and working from engineering drawings, symbols and specifications
- Safely attaching loads to cranes and rigging equipment
- Overseeing lifting operations in line with method statements and safe systems of work
- Extracting and interpreting information from drawings, specifications and method statements to determine the safest and most effective lifting methods
- Using specialist lifting and positioning equipment for a range of loads, from plant and equipment to structural steel
- Working closely with site supervision and wider project teams to ensure works are delivered efficiently and safely

We’re looking for practical, safety‑focused individuals who thrive in a team environment and take pride in their trade.
Essential Requirements- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport
- Recognised trade competency (City & Guilds, NVQ or ACE)
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience working in a site‑based construction environment
