Our client BAE Systems, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a specialism in NC/ CMM Programming, machining, fabrication to join their team on a contract basis in Warton near Preston. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, with a focus on precision manufacturing to support military and aerospace innovations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring high standards of quality and precision in machining operations
  • Collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to address technical challenges
  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to create accurate programs
  • Carrying out routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations
  • Documenting all machining processes and maintaining accurate records
  • Providing technical support and training to junior machinists as required
  • writing processes on manufacture of one off parts for an aerospace project
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in NC/ CMM programming/ machining/ fabrication
  • Strong background in precision machining and an understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD/CAM software
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Flexibility to work onsite four days a week, with the option to work from home on Fridays
