Manufacturing Engineer

Our client BAE Systems, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with a specialism in NC/ CMM Programming, machining, fabrication to join their team on a contract basis in Warton near Preston.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, with a focus on precision manufacturing to support military and aerospace innovations.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring high standards of quality and precision in machining operations
Collaborating closely with engineering and production teams to address technical challenges
Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to create accurate programs
Carrying out routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machining equipment
Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations
Documenting all machining processes and maintaining accurate records
Providing technical support and training to junior machinists as required
writing processes on manufacture of one off parts for an aerospace project

Job Requirements:

Experience in NC/ CMM programming/ machining/ fabrication
Strong background in precision machining and an understanding of manufacturing processes
Ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD/CAM software
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration abilities
Flexibility to work onsite four days a week, with the option to work from home on Fridays
