We are seeking a dynamic self‑starter who can hit the ground running, manage complex procurement processes, and drive successful supplier relationships. Our innovative thinking shapes our industry, equipping the world for tomorrow's challenges. Our team is currently working on a vast project portfolio which is reshaping the entire energy sector in Scotland, with a focus on securing the UK's future energy security and net zero ambitions and requires occasional travel to our projects around Scotland.
you'll be doing
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement procurement strategies.
- Preparing procurement schedules woven into overall project timelines and construction programmes.
- Engaging Design and Engineering teams to gather and manage detailed technical specifications.
- Tendering and Supplier Management
- Managing end-to-end tendering processes (e.g., issuing ITTs, logging responses) using e‑tendering platforms.
- Conducting analysis of supplier bids, identifying risks, and making recommendations to support cost‑effective decision‑making.
- Strengthening supplier relationships through onboarding, compliance checks, and contract evaluations.
- Subcontractor Management
- Leading the preparation and tendering of subcontract packages, ensuring precise alignment with technical, commercial, and HSEQ requirements.
- Evaluating subcontractor bids and performance, addressing underperformance whenever necessary, and escalating risks when required.
- Ensuring smooth integration of subcontract activities with project programmes.
- Contracts and Reporting
- Drafting and issuing Purchase Orders, Contract Particulars, and various procurement documents while maintaining compliance with client and company policies.
- Delivering reports and presentations to internal stakeholders on procurement progress, subcontractor performance, and supply chain risks.
- Problem Solving and Collaboration
- Resolving supplier queries in collaboration with Engineering teams.
- Escalating unresolved risks or issues to senior team members.
- Critical Thinking & Problem Solving:
You're proactive and effective at resolving challenges, with the ability to analyse data and present well‑grounded insights. - Stakeholder Management:
You excel at communication and balancing competing needs across multidisciplinary teams. - Presentation
Skills:
Ability to present key procurement insights and progress clearly to senior stakeholders. - Procurement Knowledge:
Experience with tendering processes, contract management, and supply‑chain evaluation and a proven track‑record in negotiation. - Technical Expertise:
Comfortable working with e‑tendering platforms, procurement tools, and key documentation standards. - Be a team player with key leadership skills and proven stakeholder management.
- Experience:
Previous project experience within a Utilities or Construction related environment, working with both materials suppliers and subcontractors. - Education:
Relevant business degree, MCIPS (or studying towards) or equivalent experience is desired. - Travel:
Willingness to travel within Scotland and across the UK for supplier visits and project/team meetings.
