YOUR JOB
As a Polymer Scientist , you will be an integral part of our Product & Solutions department focusing on the design, development, and characterization of novel polymers for a range of applications. Your primary goal will be to enhance the performance and functionality of polymers through innovative techniques, contributing directly to the success of our product lines and the advancement of polymer science.
Your tasks and responsibilities will be as follows:
Polymer Development: Innovate and develop new polymers using techniques such as polymerization, copolymerization, grafting, crosslinking, and more.
Characterization: Utilize advanced analytical methods (e.g., FTIR, DSC, TGA, DMA, MFI, tensile testing) to characterize the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of polymers.
Data Analysis: Analyse and interpret experimental data using statistical tools to ensure the reliability and validity of results.
Technical Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and publications to document research findings and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Literature Review: Conduct thorough literature reviews and patent searches to stay abreast of current trends and identify gaps in the polymer field.
Collaboration:
Work closely with scientists, engineers, and project managers to develop and test polymer formulations, addressing specific application requirements such as recycled polymers, new additives, and composites.
Laboratory Management: Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Troubleshooting: Act as the polymer expert in troubleshooting material-related challenges in production, providing solutions to improve processes and product quality.
New Product Development: Collaborate with project managers and other departments to contribute polymer expertise to new product development projects.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
You will definitely have:
Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years in polymer research and characterization, with a proven track record in developing and testing polymers.
Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry, physics, and engineering principles, along with proficiency in using various analytical techniques.
Experience in polymer mixtures, composites, and polymer formulation/processing is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to learn new skills and adopt emerging technologies in polymer science.
Please note that this position may will be located in Hoofddorp or Hardenberg according to the candidate`s preference.
In alignment with our policies, it is possible to work from home up to 2 days.
Applicants from Hoofddorp should consider that the role will require visits one day per week to Hardenberg facility.
