A growing independent transport planning and engineering consultancy is looking to strengthen their team with the appointment of a Senior or Principal Transport Planner in Guildford. The business operates as a specialist transport and infrastructure consultancy delivering innovative, practical, and commercially focused solutions across a broad range of development and infrastructure projects. With an integrated approach to transport planning and engineering, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work across both public and private sector developments.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, the firm is looking for an experienced Transport Planner capable of managing and delivering schemes with increasing responsibility while supporting the development of junior team members.

This is a hybrid role combining office collaboration with flexible remote working. The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of development-led transport planning projects, supporting both technical delivery and client management responsibilities.

• Delivery of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans
• Access feasibility studies and junction design coordination
• Client and stakeholder liaison
• Preparation of technical reports and planning documentation
• Managing projects across multiple sectors and scales
• Supporting and mentoring junior staff
• Contributing toward bids, fee proposals, and business development
• Working closely with multidisciplinary design and engineering teams

• Urban regeneration projects
• Active travel and sustainable transport schemes
• Development‑led infrastructure projects

• Significant UK transport planning consultancy experience
• Strong development‑focused transport planning background
• Experience delivering Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, and Travel Plans
• Understanding of the English planning system
• Experience with access feasibility and design coordination
• Knowledge of guidance such as LTN 1/20, DMRB, and Manual for Streets
• Strong communication and client‑facing capability
• Experience mentoring or managing junior staff
• Strong project management and commercial awareness
• Proficiency in Junctions 9, Lin Sig, AutoCAD, or similar software
• Degree qualified in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or related discipline
