Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor - National Opportunities

About The Role

Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick is a leader in mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (ME&I) solutions. We design, install and maintain the complex systems and technologies that underpin the UK’s national infrastructure and bring buildings to life.

But amazing infrastructure isn’t the only thing that gets built here. Incredible careers do too.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking to connect with talented Senior Quantity Surveyors across the UK to join us, and welcome applications from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors interested in current and future opportunities.

The mission is to build for future generations—providing home‑grown energy, greater price stability, and abundant low‑carbon power. Aiming to lead the way in creating long‑lasting social value, showing how effective collaboration can benefit communities locally, regionally and across the country.

What you’ll be doing

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing commercial activities on our complex industrial projects. You will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and commercial reporting across multidisciplinary engineering projects, working closely with technical teams to manage interfaces and support successful project delivery.

Who we’re looking for

Ideal candidates will have experience working on large‑scale engineering construction projects such as power generation, water treatment, energy infrastructure, or nuclear decommissioning. A good understanding of NEC contracts is essential.

  • Ideally a Chartered Member of the RICS, ICES or CIOB
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent knowledge
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Must be able to pass a DBS check
Why work for us

Day in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

Why join us?

As if contributing to and supporting work that makes life better for millions wasn’t rewarding enough, we offer a full range of benefits too. You’ll have the freedom to shape the package that’s right for you and your life.

Benefits
  • Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working, where roles allow.
  • 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata)
  • Family friendly policies which include 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partner’s leave
  • Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more…
