Electrical Design Engineer – Avionic & Cabin Systems

6–9 Month Contract | Start June 2026

DCS Engineering is currently recruiting for 2 experienced Electrical Design Engineers to support a specialist aerospace engineering programme based in Basel, Switzerland.

This contract opportunity will focus on the creation and development of electrical wiring diagrams and system schematics for avionic and cabin system applications within a highly technical aviation environment.

The successful candidates will work across complex aircraft systems, supporting both design integration and ongoing engineering activities throughout the programme lifecycle.

• Creation and modification of electrical wiring diagrams for avionic and/or cabin systems
• Development of electrical schematics and interconnection drawings using CAD/EDA software
• Support system integration activities across electrical and electronic aircraft systems
• Ensure all designs comply with electrical safety and aerospace engineering standards
• Assist with PCB and electronic circuit design activities where required
• Support embedded software or scripting tasks linked to hardware functionality
• Produce technical documentation, engineering reports, and design records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, production, and project teams
• Support project planning activities and technical deliverables throughout the programme lifecycle

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• 5–10 years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong background in electrical design and wiring diagram creation
• Experience working with avionic systems and/or aircraft cabin systems
• Knowledge of analogue and digital electronics
• Proficiency with electrical schematic and PCB design tools
• Understanding of electrical safety and compliance requirements
• Basic to intermediate programming or firmware knowledge advantageous
• Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative engineering environment

• Aerospace or aviation industry background
• Audio/video integration systems
• IT network fundamentals (LAN, switching, routing)
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering projects
