Operator Training Simulator Intern — Process Digital Twin

As an Application Engineering Intern (Operator Training Simulator) at Honeywell, in Bracknell, you will be trained and supported in working with external customers and Honeywell teams on Operator Competency solutions, Operator Training Simulators and Process Digital Twins. This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell.

This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement as part of their degree starting in Summer 2026, or a recent graduate, having graduated no earlier than 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with external customers and Honeywell teams on Operator Competency solutions, Operator Training Simulators, and Process Digital Twins.
• Participate in global projects, focusing on interpreting Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and defining process scope.
• Engage in hardware/software system design, including virtualization system sizing and dynamic process model development.
• Develop user interfaces and create comprehensive documentation for projects.
• Contribute to the development of an internal Wiki site, documenting best practices and tool development.
• Ensure adherence to Honeywell best practices and industry guidelines, gaining exposure to DCS/SIS systems from Honeywell and other manufacturers

Key skills and qualifications

• Currently studying a degree in Chemical Engineering, requiring an industrial placement in 2026 as part of the degree.
• Solid ability in MS Office, (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Exposure to at least one of the following process simulation packages:
  Uni Sim Design, Aspen HYSYS, Invensys DYNSIM or similar.
• Some exposure or interest in programming skills, such as VB, VBA, Python, etc., either from the workplace, a hobby or your degree
• Business level oral and written English communication and presentation skills
