Job Description
Wood is recruiting for a Rotational Support / Remote Engineer – Mechanical to join its UAE business unit. This is a full‑time position located in Sharjah, UAE.
Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day mechanical engineering support for site operations, addressing queries and mitigating risks to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations.
- Collaborate with site‑based teams to progress identified long‑term engineering solutions, reducing risk and supporting production growth.
- Understand, assess and drive actions to reduce mechanical engineering risks within agreed time frames.
- Define static mechanical engineering operating envelopes, monitor equipment health, record and investigate excursions outside the envelopes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for static mechanical engineering and initiate corrective action as required.
- Support technical Management of Change (MoC) and Engineering Queries (EQ).
- Identify production vulnerabilities and optimisation opportunities to support forecasting and growth.
- Write, review and recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide static mechanical engineering coaching to NOC and NGC engineers.
- Generate, revise and review discipline technical documentation.
- BSc, BEng, MEng (UK), BSc (US) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering subject.
- Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
- Significant experience in an Operations Mechanical Engineering support role.
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and ability to provide guidance on designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
- Sound stakeholder management experience.
