Power System Engineer

Location: Fully Remote Working

Client: Leading Global Green Energy Major - Wind

Contract

Start Date:

1 st February 2026

Contract End Date: 31 st July 2026 (Option to Extend)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Job Description
  • The consultant will support projects at various phases by conducting studies. Scope includes:
  • Create and validate EMT and RMS models for relevant assets (e.g., WTG, PPC, STATCOM, as applicable).
  • Plan and execute design and Grid Code compliance studies, small disturbances and fault scenarios.
  • Draft clear, audit‑ready technical documentation for internal review and external compliance; contribute to grid‑connection work streams.
  • Interface with OEMs on model provisioning, validation and parameterization.
  • Summarise findings, recommend mitigations, and ensure quality in line with company standards across multiple projects.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering (BEng/MSc/PhD) or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years' hands‑on experience with PSCAD for EMT studies, including applicable add‑ons and analysis modules, plus required experience with DIgSILENT Power Factory covering steady‑state and RMS analyses.
  • Experience working with vendor models and parameterization for compliance.
  • Scripting/automation skills for workflows and post‑processing.
  • Experience coordinating with OEMs for model delivery, validation, and updates. strong data confidentiality practices
  • Strong communication skills; able to produce clear reports and stakeholder materials.
  • Ability to work independently while following company's established methodologies, documentation standards, and QA processes.
Nice to Have (Optional)
  • Experience with National Grid ESO EMT guidelines and evidence requirements.
  • Experience with grid‑forming controls or advanced STATCOM functionalities.

  • Company will supply a laptop and all necessary software licenses and access.
