We're looking for a Major Projects Commissioning Manager to join our Thames Water Framework Project team based in Mogden.

Location

Mogden, Twickenham - some remote working may be available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Hours

Standard working hours (08:00‑17:30) – some flexibility on hours available if desired.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

Key Responsibilities

As Commissioning Manager you will lead and coordinate commissioning activity across major projects at Mogden STW. You will work closely with project teams and client stakeholders, plan, assure, and deliver safe and compliant commissioning and handover, supporting successful project completion and transition into defects and warranty. This is a client‑facing position where you will communicate and collaborate effectively with Thames Water while representing Kier’s interests.

  • Developing and managing the project’s commissioning programme in collaboration with the team and construction programme planners.
  • Developing and agreeing project handover documentation with Thames Water to enable successful project completion.
  • Managing process and electrical commissioning activities with project teams.
  • Leading and developing commissioning teams and engineers; supporting recruitment activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements while maintaining high standards for health, safety, environment, and quality.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of delivering large, multi‑disciplinary MEICA projects, including planning and managing the commissioning process.
  • Knowledge and experience within the water sector, preferably across both clean water and wastewater.
  • Working knowledge of pumps and pipe systems, sludge treatment, chemical dosing, and water/wastewater process equipment.
  • Experience using 3D models to support commissioning engagement, planning, and strategic reviews.
  • Knowledge of Regulation 30, WRAS requirements, and relevant legislation.
