Job Title
RF Designer
SalaryCirca £65,000 depending on experience
LocationStevenage (relocation package may be available)
Working ArrangementsDynamic (hybrid) working: 3-4 days per week on-site, with flexibility for remote work as needed. Full time or part time options available.
Security ClearanceBritish Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).

Work on the research, design and testing of cutting‑edge RF technology for integration into complex weapons systems.
- Design, test and prototype RF circuits (30 MHz to 30 GHz) including LNA, HPAs, filters, oscillators, synthesise rs, modulators.
- Adapt designs for harsh environments (EMC, vibration, thermal) and manage on-site lab testing.
- Perform soldering, fault finding and use RF test equipment (spectrum analyser, power meter, VNA).
- Develop digital, analogue and power supply design as needed.
- Use RF design tools such as Microwave Office for layout and simulation.
- Work with manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacture and test.
- Communicate results, problems and solutions clearly through presentations and reports.
- Proven practical RF design and testing experience across a wide frequency range.
- Experience designing RF components for harsh environments (EMC, vibration, thermal).
- Strong practical skills (soldering, fault finding, RF test equipment).
- Good knowledge of digital, analogue and power supply design.
- Experience with RF design tools such as Microwave Office, including layout.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and capabilities, including design for manufacture and test.
- Excellent communication, presentation and report‑writing skills.
