What are you going to do?
As a Certification Engineer (Approval Expert Weighing), you will manage and execute certification projects for manufacturers seeking national and international approvals of their measuring instruments. You will lead projects from application to certification, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards, while also taking a hands‑on role in testing various weighing instruments.
The role is dynamic and client‑facing, where you will work within our Business Unit Weighing, focusing on products such as industrial scales and weigh bridges. Occasionally, travel will be required to customer sites to perform on‑site testing and inspections. In this role you will combine project management, hands‑on technical work, and client engagement.
We provide on‑the‑job training to ensure you develop the skills and knowledge required to handle certification processes, standards interpretation, and regulatory compliance effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple certification projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, and coordination with clients, internal teams, and external laboratories
Conduct or supervise hands‑on testing by developing and executing test plans
Perform on‑site testing and inspections at customer locations, if necessary, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
Review and evaluate technical documentation to ensure compliance with frameworks such as Metrology Act, MID, Welmec, OIML, and IEC
Prepare reports, issue certifications, and maintain records for internal and external stakeholders
Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates on project status, test results, and certification outcomes
Track project progress, anticipate challenges, and implement solutions to maintain schedules and compliance standards
Stay up to date with legislation, standards, and industry developments relevant to weighing and metrology
Participate in on‑the‑job training to strengthen technical knowledge and certification expertise
What do we expect from you?
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably Applied Physics
Experience setting up tests in a lab and reporting on the results
Strong project management skills, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget
Excellent communication skills in English and preferably Dutch
Proactive, accurate, and passionate about technology
