Our client is seeking a highly innovative and results‑driven Manufacturing Process Engineer with a specialization in automation to join their fully remote engineering team. This role is pivotal in optimizing production processes, implementing advanced automation solutions, and enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency. - Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement through automation and optimization.
- Design, develop, and implement automated systems and solutions for production lines, including robotics, PLCs, and HMI interfaces.
- Develop process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and technical specifications for automation projects.
- Select appropriate automation hardware and software components, considering cost, performance, and reliability.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of new automated equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to automated manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, production, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of automated solutions.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for automated systems.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Stay current with emerging automation technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of predictive maintenance strategies for automated equipment.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all automation projects.
- Provide technical training and support to production and maintenance personnel.
- Document process improvements, automation designs, and performance metrics.
- Effectively communicate project status and technical insights in a remote team setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing process engineering, with a strong focus on automation and control systems.
- Proven experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing systems (e.g., robotics, PLCs, SCADA, HMI).
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, C#) and automation software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, lean manufacturing concepts, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and control system documentation.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and IoT applications in manufacturing.
- Experience with simulation software for process optimization is a plus.
