Engineering Manager

My client was founded in 1988 and is a world leader in delivering cutting‑edge solutions in defence and communications. The key to their success is designing all products in‑house, emphasising long‑term reliability and quality control.

As the Engineering Manager, you are responsible for leading and developing a multi‑disciplinary engineering team (Embedded Software, Hardware, Mechanical, Systems and RF). Additionally, the successful candidate will strengthen engineering processes and implement digital governance (including Jira), support and deliver approximately 6 active NPI or revenue‑generating programmes a year (typically under 10), improve resource planning and execution to reduce team stretch, and ensure smooth cross‑functional collaboration across Engineering, Sales, Operations and Leadership.

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent in relevant subject (or equivalent work experience)
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an equivalent role
• Experience in defence or aviation, and/or knowledge of RF, embedded systems or electronics would be highly beneficial
• Experience of Project and Line Management in the defence or aviation industry
• Experience of reporting to Senior Management
• AMP, Prince2 or similar certification
• British Citizen or the ability to obtain the required security clearance

• Salary up to £85,000 doe
