Overview
Capgemini Engineering is looking for a Defence Mission Systems Engineer, with a passion to support cutting-edge defence orientated projects and experience of delivering and influencing MBSE processes. You will join our rapidly growing team to support our UK and overseas clients across a variety of defence projects. Our portfolio of projects includes work at all stages of the system lifecycle, from concept definition to in-service support.
We also offer consultancy services to improve organisation’s Systems Engineering & MBSE capabilities and enable digital transformation. Capgemini operate a hybrid working model with a combination of office and home-based working, along with occasional travel to client sites. As a Senior Systems Engineer you will be working alongside some of the top experts in the country on large and complex client engagements across a variety of projects, with opportunities to grow and take on responsibility from day one.
You’ll Do
- Support the delivery of complex systems engineering projects using an MBSE-based approach, ensuring effective integration across wider engineering processes.
- Proactively engage with stakeholders at a range of organisational levels to elicit, analyse, and refine requirements, driving projects toward successful outcomes aligned with client needs.
- Lead and mentor team members, contributing to capability development, knowledge sharing, and fostering a high-performing team.
- Contribute to successful project delivery and account growth, through strong client relationships, knowledge capitalisation, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
- Provide technical leadership and authoritative guidance on SE/MBSE approaches, best practices, and modelling standards.
- Support the development and delivery of MBSE transformation initiatives across complex organisations, encompassing people, processes, and tools.
- Develop, configure, and maintain MBSE toolsets and project environments, ensuring robust traceability and effective tool integration.
- Engineering or science degree, with substantial experience delivering defence-related systems engineering projects.
- Experience of the specification, design, development or test of software intensive mission systems.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard systems engineering processes across the full lifecycle, including requirements management, system design, and verification & validation.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships, with proven stakeholder management and experience leading teams to deliver high-value outcomes.
- Hands-on experience with SysML and the application of MBSE methods, frameworks, and modelling standards in engineering projects.
- Proficiency with leading MBSE toolsets such as Enterprise Architect, Cameo Systems Modeler, Rhapsody, and Capella.
- Working knowledge of established MBSE frameworks (e.g., Magic Grid, Harmony, Arcadia, CESAM, OOSEM, SYSMOD, CORE).
- Experience integrating requirements management tools and processes within an MBSE approach to ensure robust traceability and consistency.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments with strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
