About the role

Lockheed Martin Canada Inc. is the leading specialized combat systems integrator in Canada. The successful candidate will support our River‑class Destroyer program (DCFR) as a member of the integration, test and evaluation team.

Primary responsibilities include developing shipboard test and trial systems for Lockheed Martin's scope of supply, supporting commissioning and operation of each ship, coordinating with the ship integration team, detecting and resolving combat system integration issues, reviewing and analysing test results, performing onboard regression testing, and ensuring configuration management of all combat systems installed.

Responsibilities
  • Develop shipboard test and trial systems, including commissioning, onboard integration testing, harbour acceptance tests, sea acceptance tests, and operational test and evaluation.
  • Support planning and execution of activities leading to the initial and final acceptance of each ship for Lockheed Martin’s scope of supply.
  • Coordinate with the ship integration team to align any preventive or corrective maintenance tasks related to combat systems.
  • Detect and resolve combat systems integration issues so that priority defects are fixed to meet test schedules.
  • Identify and address system problem reports to ensure priority defects are fixed to meet test timelines.
  • Review and analyze test results and report findings for integration and operational tests.
  • Perform onboard regression testing for all delivered command management systems.
  • Coordinate with other technical discipline leads (including safety, cybersecurity, and human systems integration) to ensure test completeness.
  • Respond to issues discovered on ships by executing targeted tests and identifying remedial actions.
  • Support configuration management of all combat systems installed on ships within Lockheed Martin’s scope of supply.
  • Lead subsystem software regression testing on delivered software, providing recommendations for acceptance and subsequent ship deployment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma from a recognized university in an engineering discipline or equivalent technical experience.
  • Five or more years of professional experience.
  • Experience in testing and trials.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to work team schedules, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to solve difficult problems within a team.
  • High degree of initiative and autonomy.
  • Must be able to obtain a NATO Secret security clearance in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IBM DOORS (requirements management).
  • Experience with Agile Scrum.
  • Experience working in an industrial shipyard.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Good knowledge of SAP.
  • A current NATO Secret security clearance.
