Your future role on our team
You’ll be part of our mechanical engineering team, which is involved in delivering many asset maintenance projects in the Abitibi‑Témiscamingue mining sector. You may also be asked to provide remote support to our other regional offices in Labrador, Saguenay‑Lac‑Saint‑Jean and Sept‑Îles, or to our Montréal or Mont‑Saint‑Hilaire offices, particularly for study projects related to major mandates in the mining, energy and heavy industry sectors.
Those assignments will include designing and developing studies and, in some cases, providing detailed engineering during project implementation. Depending on your assignments, you’ll primarily play a technical role. You’ll be based at our Rouyn‑Noranda or Val‑d’Or office, but you may be required to take short trips to our other offices in Eastern Canada.

- Actively contribute to many asset maintenance projects in the greater Abitibi‑Témiscamingue region
- Help write technical reports
- Help design plans and specifications
- Perform design calculations and ensure plans meet guidelines, code requirements and other regulations
- Coordinate the work of designers and other team members
- Assign tasks to less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff and review their work
- Make technical choices on designs to be established, provide recommendations and make important decisions on highly technical or complex issues
- Ensure work complies with budgets, estimates, procedures and schedules
- Participate in site surveys

Job Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- Three years of experience or less as a mechanical engineer
- Available for short‑term work assignments outside the office
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English‑speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Valid driver’s licence
- Asset: experience in the mining sector
- Asset: ASP Construction card
