The Signalling Testing and Commissioning Practice is an exciting team eager to grasp modern systems, processes and concepts within the regulatory framework we must work in.
While London is listed as the primary location, we are flexible and open to other UK locations as well.
Your role- Undertake functional testing of relay‑based and CBI interlocking and carry out testing of 4‑foot trackside equipment.
- Assist the Tester in Charge in evaluating the testing resource requirements for individual tasks and brief the Tester in Charge on project testing status.
- Ensure adherence to the Atkins
Réalis standards, procedures and processes covering all engineering, safety, administrative and project requirements. - Undertake testing and commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance, and safety parameters.
- Promote the advancement of staff under your control and actively train staff as opportunities arise.
- Act as signalling works Mentor for staff, encouraging their technical progression as railway signalling engineers.
- Co‑operate with performance appraisals, attend training courses, and maintain an IRSE logbook to an acceptable standard.
- MUST hold and IRSE Licence – Functional Tester 1.3.170 or have held it in the past few years. Railway signalling functional testing with varied project experience to Location/Interlocking level and comprehensive equipment specific experience. Include and IRSE Licence submission with your application.
- Must have competence in Level crossings or extensive 3BI experience.
- Have NWR 3B/4 testing competency certification and/or industry‑recognised equipment‑specific specialist knowledge. Good working knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.
- A1 IRSE assessor for all testing categories except TIC, concepts and systems testing (Desirable). Good working knowledge of Railway Group / NWR company standards requirements.
- Able to work under pressure during periods of high workload and commissioning.
- Current full UK driving licence.
- Perform COSS duties as necessary.
