Project Technologist
Annual Salary Range: CAD $55,000 - $65,000

Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Indoor Environmental Quality team in Richmond, BC. Reporting to the Director, this new role offers an opportunity to apply your expertise and uphold our commitment to excellence.
Role OverviewAs a Project Technologist with Pinchin’s Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) team, you will play an important role in helping clients create safer, healthier, and higher-performing buildings. You will support projects involving mould and water damage, indoor air quality, radon, fire and smoke damage, infection control, and hazardous materials assessments across a variety of sectors.
This role combines field work, technical problem solving, client communication, and project coordination. Your day-to-day work will be a mix of time spent at client sites performing investigations, inspections, and environmental sampling, along with office or home-based reporting where you analyze findings, interpret results, and prepare clear technical reports and recommendations for clients.
You will work closely with experienced Project Managers and senior technical staff to investigate environmental concerns, collect and interpret data, and provide practical recommendations that help clients protect occupants, restore buildings, and manage risk.

Your role and action:- Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances and other hazardous materials.
- Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns.
- Perform inspections and evaluate building systems.
- Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire.
- Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned, or remediated and operational.
- Collect a variety of air and bulk (mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.) samples.
- Interpret laboratory results.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns.
- Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed.
- Post-secondary education in a related field (construction, engineering, architecture, science, environment) is considered an asset, though we are open to candidates from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds.
- Previous experience in indoor environmental quality, restoration, construction, facilities, environmental services, or consulting is considered an asset, but not required. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and interest in building a long-term career in consulting.
- Experience with building construction or maintenance is an asset, but not required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, strong organization, and high attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, and personal vehicle required, with availability to travel to client sites and work occasionally evenings and weekends.
