Role OverviewWe are seeking an Advanced Field Service Engineer (Mechanical) at Honeywell, working from either our Basingstoke or Yeovil office depending on your personal location. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving technical issues raised by customers across the aviation industry, including airlines, operators, MROs, and aircraft OEMs. Your primary function will be to provide technical support for Honeywell Aerospace’s array of mechanical and electro‑mechanical products remotely.
This is a hybrid / remote role; you will work primarily from a customer site or our office at least three days a week, depending on the project you are currently working on. When not on site, we often allow working from home.
Key Responsibilities- Be the single point of contact for assigned customers regarding Honeywell Aerospace products and system technical issues.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, initiating corrective actions to ensure satisfaction with Honeywell products and services.
- Provide multidisciplinary technical expertise (mechanical and avionics) and operational guidance to help customers achieve proficiency in operating and maintaining Honeywell products.
- Respond to telephone support cases from customers in real time.
- Provide on‑site field service support by deploying to customer aircraft locations to resolve complex technical issues as required, and build relationships with assigned airline customers with periodic visits, scheduled calls, and face‑to‑face quarterly meetings across Europe.
- Interpret and communicate technical support data; provide on‑the‑job training; act as liaison between Honeywell Aerospace and customer personnel.
- Ability to travel across Europe when required.
- Full right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship, and living within a commutable daily commute to our office.
- Bachelor’s degree in aircraft engineering (not avionics) or extensive equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Solid experience troubleshooting mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems on business, commercial, or military aircraft.
- Demonstrated experience in a customer‑facing role, with a strong focus on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
