Location:

Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth – some remote working may be available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Hours:

45 hours per week – some flexibility on hours is available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering a major project for Thames Water at Maple Lodge.

Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical engineering from inception to completion, utilising in‑house functions and resources.
  • Collaborate with supply‑chain design teams and our design partner to ensure full integration, CDM compliance, and constructability of all designs.
  • Liaise with the client’s engineering and operational staff to ensure performance indicators are met or exceeded within budget.
  • Prepare estimates, quotations, and contract documentation, and support procurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Mentor and support graduate mechanical engineers, helping them develop their skills and progress their careers.
Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of waste‑water engineering, including key suppliers and process equipment designs.
  • Familiarity with access metalwork standards, large‑scale pipework designs for both air and water uses, and capability to review and check related calculations.
  • Experience delivering large waste‑water schemes (over £50 million).
  • Ability to effectively lead and manage teams on site, building strong relationships across projects.
  • Full driving licence.
