About the role
Balfour Beatty Power T&D are looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator to join their team in Warrington.
Role purpose:
Responsible for delivering digital excellence across multi-utility infrastructure projects in the Gas, Power & Water sectors.
Focus on supporting BIM coordination, digital delivery, and utility design through a strong technical background, collaboration across teams, and a commitment to delivering high-quality digital models for utility infrastructure projects.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage BIM models for utility infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Ensure BIM models adhere to regulatory requirements, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Assist in the implementation of BIM workflows and digital tools across design and delivery phases, including Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, and Common Data Environments (Project Wise, ACC).
- Provide hands-on support in clash detection and coordination activities, helping resolve design conflicts and improve project integration.
- Contribute to the maintenance of BIM standards, templates, and workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency across projects.
- Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure BIM outputs align with project goals and support design development.
- Generate detailed models, drawings, reports, and visualisations to aid project planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain and update BIM standards, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.
- Participate in coordination meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder discussions, representing BIM interests and supporting the BIM Manager.
- Stay informed on industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies, and share insights with the wider team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Foundation Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in BIM coordination and utility design within the Gas, Power & Water sectors.
- Qualification as a BIM information management practitioner (BS19650) is desirable.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and CDE platforms (Project Wise, ACC/BIM
360). - Experience with clash detection, coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong understanding of utility infrastructure design and BIM processes.
- Experience in mentoring, training, and supporting team development.
- Familiarity with GIS integration (Map Info, QGIS), 4D scheduling, and asset management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive and supportive approach.
- Knowledge of ISO
19650 standards and regulatory compliance in BIM.
