Automation Designer II (Building Automation Solutions), Calgary AB, Toronto ON, or Ottawa ON
We are looking for dedicated and talented people to tackle ever‑changing challenges and deliver building automation solutions that align with client requirements and project objectives. As Automation Designer II, you will design system architecture, select products, and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality execution.

Toronto, ON;
Ottawa, ON. Hybrid (remote/office) with 1–3 days in‑office per week and occasional travel to project sites.
- Understand requirements and design building automation solutions for various facility types (education, high‑rise, office).
- Design building automation network architecture (DDC panels, workstations, integrations such as Modbus, BACnet, etc.).
- Prepare design documents including layouts, electrical drawings, sequences of operation, panel layouts, and schedules.
- Design building and space pressurization solutions, chiller/boiler plant sequencing, etc.
- Ensure designs meet contract requirements (drawings, specs, estimates).
- Degree or diploma in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of building automation design experience; less experienced candidates may be considered.
- Ability to design standard jobs with minimal deviation using standard tools, products, and practices for small–medium sized projects; large projects with assistance.
- Strong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or other engineering design software.
- CAD training or equivalent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self‑starter; analytical and problem‑solving skills; learning agility.
- Hybrid work environment with the ability to travel to project sites on an as‑needed basis.
- A valid and unrestricted G/Class 5 driver’s licence and vehicle is required for the Siemens Fleet Program and for travel to customer sites within the assigned region(s).
- PEO, ASHRAE, LEED certifications.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam Revu 2020 and/or Adobe Pro.
