Position Overview

The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting project quality objectives by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality programs across all phases of work. This role works closely with project management, field engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning teams to ensure work is performed in accordance with project requirements, client expectations, and applicable standards. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in large-scale infrastructure, dam, or earthwork construction projects, along with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in dynamic site environments.

Work Environment

This position will be required to work on-site from a project location within the United States of America. Locations include but are not limited to:
California, New York, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, North Dakota, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to the local area of their assigned project. Remote work and fly-in-fly-out work arrangements are not options for these positions.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, maintains, and verifies implementation of the Quality programs for the Project, together with oversight of the implementation of programs/plans for the direct hire work and Sub-Contractor.
  • Manages and coordinates Quality activities associated with field engineering field procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning within the Project scope.
  • Maintains client liaison and communication for Project’s quality activities, as directed by the Project Manager and Quality Control Manager.
  • Reviews, audits and surveys Quality activities across the Project direct hire execution and Sub-Contractors and advises and reports to management quality problems and progress within the Project.

Qualifications

  • Must be willing and able to relocate to and reside in assigned project areas in the USA
  • Must be a Canadian, Mexican, or American Dual citizen for work visa purposes
  • Must have a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university for work visa purposes
  • Heavy civil construction experience is required
  • Project sites are located domestically and internationally, so relocation and/or travel are required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience of related experience on large dam, infrastructure, and earthwork construction projects.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and
  • United States Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors certificate preferred (USACE CQM-C)
