Wood is seeking expressions of interest from Senior Technical Author’s to join our Integrated Digital Operations Team based in Aberdeen, supporting a diverse portfolio of global projects.
The Role
This role is responsible for updating and enhancing existing documentation to meet client requirements, ensuring all deliverables are completed within agreed timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints. Experience in Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSSE) documentation is desirable.

Responsibilities
The Key Objectives of this role are:
- Plan and define the work:
Establish objectives, audience, scope, standards, legislation, style, methodology, resources, timescales, and agree these with the client or technical authority - Research and structure content:
Gather and filter relevant information, organise it logically, define heading hierarchies, and develop synopses where required to ensure clarity and usability - Author and develop technical content:
Produce consistent, compliant draft documents using templates, incorporating accurate diagrams and graphics, and liaising through review and approval stages - Manage document production and quality:
Ensure independent quality control checks and coordinate final production deliverables (electronic and hard copy) with production teams - Maintain and assure document quality:
Revise existing documents as required, ensure consistency of style and language, manage workload priorities, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver to agreed standards, scope, and budget

Expected:
- General Education to secondary level
- Recognized qualification in Technical Authorship or appropriate discipline
- Proven years of experience in Technical Authoring
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project)
