OverviewWe are seeking a Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our Multiworks/Residential team. You’ll be responsible for designing automatic sprinkler systems in line with industry standards and company expectations. This is a hands‑on role requiring site visits, collaboration with multiple departments, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Designing and developing sprinkler systems in accordance with BSEN 12845, BS9251, NFPA, and FM Global standards across both commercial and residential premises.
- Producing and reviewing detailed design drawings and hydraulic calculations, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and company standards.
- Attending contract handover meetings, conducting site checks to verify pipe routes and avoid clashes.
- Collaborating with the Design Manager to resolve any design issues.
- Preparing and issuing final construction drawings to relevant stakeholders and producing “As Fitted” drawings throughout the contract.
- Supporting other departments to drive continuous improvement and contribute to overall business operations.
- Experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems in commercial and/or residential premises.
- Knowledge of LPC/BS EN 12845, BS9251 NFPA, FM Global Datasheets, and FHC rules.
- Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and work towards LPCB design qualifications.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with design checklists and documentation processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to attend training and participate in company meetings and projects.
- Valid UK driving licence (if applicable).
