Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across commercial, residential, PBSA, hotel, and mixed‑use developments.
Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle from RIBA Stage 1 through to handover.
Produce mechanical calculations, technical specifications, reports, and detailed design information.
Attend client, design team, and project meetings as a key technical representative.
Coordinate designs with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and wider project teams.
Support and mentor junior and intermediate engineers within the business.
Review project deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with current regulations and standards.
Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting repeat business opportunities.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider engineering team to deliver high‑quality projects.
Experience in public health design would be advantageous, although this is not essential.
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer– Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Building Services consultancy environment.
- Strong experience delivering mechanical designs on large‑scale commercial, residential, hotel, PBSA, or mixed‑use developments.
- Ability to manage projects independently and confidently engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience across detailed design and technical delivery stages.
- Strong understanding of current and upcoming Building Services regulations and standards.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of the construction and development process.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor junior engineers and represent the business professionally.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
- Public health design experience would be beneficial but is not a prerequisite.
- Salary up to £75,000 depending on experience.
