Engineering Doctorate (EngD) Programs in Data, Software & Systems Design
Our EngD programs are a two‑year, accredited, full‑time post‑master’s program that leads to an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) degree. The program is paid, with no tuition fees, and bridges academia and industry.

What we offer
EngD students work on large, interdisciplinary projects with leading companies and research partners. The programme combines coursework, workshops, and a major project delivered in collaboration with industry or research consortia.

EngD tracks

Data Science  – Designing and deploying AI‑enabled solutions for complex real‑world challenges. Trainees learn to collect, structure, analyze and interpret heterogeneous datasets; develop scalable machine‑learning models; ope rationalise data products with modern data‑engineering and MLOps practices; and translate insights into value for stakeholders.

Software Technology  – Advanced software design and system architecture for software‑intensive high‑tech systems, preparing students for demanding roles in multinational companies.

Automotive / Mechatronic Systems Design  – System‑level thinking, hardware and software integration, and multidisciplinary collaboration to deliver advanced robotic, automation, manufacturing or smart mobility solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development and deployment of large projects in close collaboration with industrial or research partners.

Conduct independent research and engineering work that demonstrates practical impact.

Apply engineering and systems thinking to solve complex challenges.

Job requirements

Recent Master of Science (MSc) degree with strong academics in a relevant field (Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mechatronics, Robotics, Systems & Control, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Applied Physics, Automotive Technology, or related).

Solid foundation in technical discipline and ability to acquire new knowledge quickly.

Strong engineering skills demonstrated through design, development, analysis or real‑world solutions.

Experience working independently on a substantial project (e.g., MSc thesis, research, internship).

Systems‑oriented mindset and understanding of interactions between technical, organisational and operational aspects.

Affinity with industrial innovation and ambition to create business and societal impact.

Strong communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary teams.

Proactive, independent and professional attitude with a willingness to learn.

Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.
