We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a high-profile civils and build project in Friston, Suffolk. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take full responsibility for commercial delivery across a key section of the project. This role requires a strong technical and commercial skillset, the ability to work with autonomy, and a passion for driving value, efficiency, and collaboration across the project team.

- Lead all commercial aspects of allocated work packages or project sections.
- Provide guidance, leadership, and development to junior commercial team members.
- Build and maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships to support successful commercial outcomes.
- Develop and manage the project procurement schedule, ensuring compliance with VINCI policies.
- Prepare subcontract tender packages, evaluate returns, and place subcontracts.
- Conduct gap analysis to ensure complete scope coverage.
- Support and encourage continuous improvement within the supply chain.
- Maximise project cash flow through timely valuations and invoice submissions.
- Manage variations, claims, compensation events, and final account settlement.
- Produce accurate and timely CVRs, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Monitor labour, plant, and material usage to ensure efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including notices and documentation.
- Maintain risk and opportunity registers, driving proactive mitigation and enhancement strategies.
- Lead early value engineering initiatives to optimise cost, programme, and quality.
- Support the project team with programming, planning, and commercial insights.
- Actively contribute to project start-up processes and close-out activities.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide specialist commercial and contractual advice to the wider delivery team.
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, infrastructure, or build environments.
- Strong contractual knowledge, especially NEC or similar standard forms.
- Excellent commercial acumen and forecasting skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead others.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
