Position: Quality Improvement Specialist (Penempatan )

Lead Process Improvement Engineer
- Chemical Manufacturing

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and results‑oriented Lead Process Improvement Engineer to join their expanding industrial operations in Surabaya, East Java,  role is integral to optimizing production efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational performance within our chemical manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and advanced statistical process control techniques.

You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and leading cross‑functional teams to implement sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, analysis, and implementation of process improvement projects across manufacturing departments.
  • Develop and deploy Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows, eliminate non‑value‑added activities, and reduce operational costs.
  • Utilize statistical tools and techniques to monitor process performance, identify root causes of variations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and conduct experiments (DOE) to optimize process parameters and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of process improvements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on process improvement tools and techniques to plant personnel.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, yield, quality, and safety.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision‑making throughout the organization.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, present findings to senior management, and manage project timelines and budgets.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in process engineering and automation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Master's degree or an MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, industrial engineering, or operations management, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex process improvement projects that resulted in significant cost savings and efficiency gains.
  • Expertise in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and process simulation tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing industry is a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
