Responsibilities- Providing technical evaluations and offering problem‑solving solutions to different team members.
- Prepare written proposals outlining everything stakeholders should know about a project, including the timeline, allocating resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
- Offer technical guidance and input throughout the project implementation, statutory planning, and participation in Public Consultation events.
- Responsible for the engineering and design activities of the team related to the overhead line. This includes PLS‑CADD modelling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria, sag‑tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations, structure spotting, clearance reports, conductor, and insulator selection, etc.
- Conducting feasibility studies, performing conductor thermal ratings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Undertake studies to identify a technically preferred solution / layout to take forward to the Client.
- Actively take part in Industry working groups such as CIGRE, IEEE.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering.
- Experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
- Experience on upgrading work projects such as utilisation of High Temperature Low Sag conductors.
- Desirable skills – PLS CADD / POLE / TOWER.
- Knowledge of conducting galloping studies, EMF and Field Effects Calculation, Wake effect, AC Interference for Gas pipelines would be advantageous.
- The ability to travel as projects dictate.
