Title:
Commissioning Department Manager

- Lead and manage the commissioning department, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Ensure the application of standard and best industry practice, innovating where appropriate.
- Review and oversee the activities and output of the team members as Manager and Subject matter Expert.
- Develop departmental strategy, procedures, and best practices to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop commissioning engineers and specialists.
- Support proposal and project requirements as K Commissioning lead.
- Oversee commissioning activities across multiple projects from Concept/FEED/EPC planning through to completion and handover.
- Ensure commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures are developed and implemented effectively.
- Monitor project progress, resolving issues and mitigating risks to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with project managers, design teams, contractors and clients to ensure alignment.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting and sign‑off processes are completed.
- A relevant number of years of LNG/Gas processing commissioning experience (Ammonia/SAF experience also considered valuable).
- Must be comfortable primarily in process mechanical commissioning but also understand the principles of instrument, control and electrical systems commissioning.
- Extensive field “hands‑on” and field management experience as well as Home Office experience.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on commissioning methodologies and standards.
- Influence client teams as to best approach.
- Review system designs to ensure they are commissionable and meet operational requirements.
- Support troubleshooting, testing and validation of complex systems.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes and emerging technologies.
- Strong knowledge of field commissioning organisation set up and sizing etc.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with industry standards, regulations and company policies.
- Maintain strong focus on health, safety and environmental practices.
- Implement quality assurance processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct audits and reviews of commissioning processes and outputs.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients on commissioning‑related matters.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates to senior stakeholders.
- Support business development by contributing technical expertise to bids and proposals.
- Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Monitor project costs, ensuring commissioning activities are delivered within budget.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimisation.
- Support pricing and estimation for commissioning services.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in commissioning within Gas processing, LNG facilities or power plants, with a specified number of field years.
- Proven experience managing teams and complex projects.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations, safe energisation processes and PTW systems.
