A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be part of the Materials Engineering group, providing technical support across design, manufacturing, repair, and service functions for aeroderivative gas turbine products. Your day will focus on supporting the design and production of structural castings, ensuring solutions are robust, reliable, and cost-effective. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers, contributing to technical decisions and problem-solving initiatives. The environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with opportunities to engage with global manufacturing partners and gain exposure to international operations.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Provide technical input on material selection, special processes, and supplier capabilities, with focus on structural castings (cases, bearing housings, hubs).
- Approve manufacturing methods and supporting documentation to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Review and approve component definitions, design changes, repairs, and non-conformance reports.
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and update of technical specifications.
- Evaluate and assess supplier capabilities from a technical standpoint.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in materials engineering supporting the manufacturing of structural castings (investment, sand, centrifugal casting).
- Experience in design for manufacturing, interpretation of technical drawings, and casting defectology and metallurgy.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, HIP, heat treatment, anodizing, painting, and high-temperature coatings.
- Experience with Product and Process Qualification (PPQ / APQP or equivalent methodologies).
- This position is in a French-speaking environment but requires fluency in English to comprehend documentation and technical terms from international sources, and to communicate with customers, suppliers, or international colleagues.
