The company focuses on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and building automation solutions for a wide range of environments. Robell delivers control systems for fan coil units, natural ventilation, power auto‑changeover panels, energy conservation, lighting control, fault monitoring, and energy usage monitoring.

The team is experienced in environmental and air‑conditioning control applications, offering end‑to‑end services from concept through to ongoing support. Applicants can expect to join a specialist organization with deep technical expertise and long‑standing industry presence.

This is a full‑time hybrid role based in Birmingham, with a mix of on‑site work at client locations and some work from home. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for commissioning, testing, and validating building control and HVAC control systems to ensure they operate according to design and performance specifications. Day‑to‑day tasks include configuring controllers, uploading and modifying software, carrying out functional and electrical tests, and documenting test results and commissioning reports.

The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, coordinating with project managers, designers, and installation teams, and supporting handover and client training. The Commissioning Engineer will also assist with system upgrades, routine inspections, and quality assurance activities, while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

• Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with practical experience in building services, HVAC controls, or building automation systems.
• Proficiency in Electrical Testing and testing of control panels and field devices, including use of standard electrical test instruments.
• Hands‑on experience as a Commissioning Engineer, including commissioning of HVAC, BMS, or related control systems.
• Ability to carry out effective troubleshooting, fault‑finding, and root‑cause analysis on electrical and control systems.
• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., HNC/HND, vocational qualification, or degree) in Electrical Engineering, Controls, or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with control system software, fieldbus networks, and documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams, and control narratives.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work safely on construction and live operational sites.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
• Experience in health and safety practices, including adherence to method statements and risk assessments.
