Position: Senior Project Engineer - (MV & LV Switchgears & Protection UAE

Senior Project Engineer - (MV & LV Switchgears & Protection)- Abu Dhabi, UAE

You are responsible for independently handling the modification, extension, maintenance and spare parts orders of Siemens manufactured MV and LV Switchgears. You must have sound technical knowledge of Siemens MV Switchgears (GIS and AIS) and LV Switchgears, and be well‑versed in project management processes from sales handover to project completion. You should be aware of project opening and clarification, communication, organization, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling the project activities.

You need at least 10 years of experience handling similar projects.

You’ll make a difference by

Assisting the Project Manager in managing switch gear projects within the time, budget and quality requirements.
Using sound technical knowledge of Siemens MV Switchgears (AIS & GIS) and their protection systems, particularly in utility substations and oil and gas industries.
Planning projects: taking over from the Sales team, making clarifications, and performing overall project planning including preparing a project overview, resource allocation plan, procurement plan, revenue generation plan and overall project time schedule.
Procurement and subcontracting: releasing Purchase Orders and Subcontracts after taking inputs from Engineering and Procurement teams, and following up with vendors and suppliers until project completion.
Monitoring and controlling the project by analysing and continuously monitoring project plan fulfilment with regard to technical and commercial aspects, preparing progress measurement sheets, conducting weekly review meetings, assisting the Project Manager in monitoring cash‑flow and revenue generation planning, and activating appropriate escalation procedures.
Reporting: assessing and documenting project status and performing internal and external reporting in line with company and customer guidelines.
Risk management:

carrying out risk assessment from sales handover until project completion, identifying risks, preparing mitigation action plans, monitoring risk‑influencing factors and taking appropriate measures.
Contracts & claim management: assisting the Project and Procurement Manager in identifying early deviations and changes, sending timely change notifications to customers and suppliers, and preparing change orders and time‑extension claims.
Stakeholder management & customer relations: developing a stakeholder management plan, engaging all parties, informing stakeholders of project status, developing strategies to reinforce engagement, gathering opinions and suggestions, and performing a customer satisfaction survey at project end.
Project closeout: managing the project completion/closure, acceptance of delivery units and services, validation and verification, organizing the final handover to the customer and involved parties, and conducting a lessons‑learned workshop.

Your success is grounded in

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of site testing and commissioning experience on Siemens MV GIS and protection systems in utility substations and oil and gas industries.
Expert knowledge of medium and low voltage switchgears and protection systems.
PMP or IPMA certification is a plus.
Experience in turn‑key projects with direct interface to the customer, public authorities and subcontractors.
