About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our outstanding Major Projects team to work at our Old Oak Common development in London - join us and be part of the largest construction project in the UK.
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
What you’ll be doing- Develop a solid working relationship with key stakeholders.
- Ownership of end-to-end processes (i.e. order placing) ensuring governance is adhered to.
- General administration duties.
- Production of reports to the management team.
- Develop relationships with the Supply Chain.
- Report any operational issues to the relevant departments/functions (i.e. Plant Breakdowns).
- Identify any problem areas, agreeing corrective actions with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring their implementation.
- Ensure documentation is stored in line with project requirements.
- Administration of project Document Control System for the Self Delivery function – ALIM.
- Project Management or Business Administration qualification (or working towards).
- Proficient with procurement systems. The ability to communicate effectively is required to manage stakeholder relationships, in addition to strong planning and organisation skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.
- The individual will require a 'can do' attitude to problem solving coupled with a willingness to ask for help.
- Clear attention to detail and a focus on 'Right First Time'.
- Strong computer skills.
