This is a field-based role offering variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while working with a wide range of specialist equipment.

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing water treatment systems at customer sites throughout the South West and Midlands.

You will work closely with customers to ensure equipment operates efficiently and reliably, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing of water treatment equipment.

  • Diagnose faults and undertake repairs, including replacement of components and systems.

  • Install, commission, calibrate, and test new equipment.

  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and customer call outs.

  • Produce accurate service reports detailing work completed and recommendations.

  • Manage spare parts inventory and requisition replacement components as required.

  • Utilise specialist tools and test equipment safely and effectively.

  • Provide technical support and expertise to customers and colleagues.

  • Identify opportunities for additional products and services and refer leads to the sales team.

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, ISO standards, and Health & Safety requirements.

  • Participate in an out of hours on call rota and occasional weekend working.

  • Travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays and short term assignments.

Qualifications

What we are looking for…

Essential:

  • Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience in plant maintenance, fault finding, and equipment servicing.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Good computer literacy and report writing skills.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within the UK and stay away from home when required.

  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.

Desirable:

  • Electro mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent.

  • ONC/HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar discipline.

  • 18th Edition qualification.

  • Experience working with water purification or water treatment systems.

  • Previous experience as a field/mobile service engineer.
