Commissioning Engineer

Responsible for the safe testing, commissioning and energisation of high-voltage electrical systems across utility, industrial and renewable energy projects. Ensure all plant and equipment are commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards and health and safety requirements, supporting successful project delivery through to client handover.

Key Responsibilities

* Commission HV substations, switch gear, transformers, protection and control systems, and associated plant.

* Carry out pre-commissioning inspections, functional testing, secondary injection testing and system energisation.

* Review commissioning procedures, drawings, schematics and technical documentation.

* Diagnose and resolve commissioning faults, producing technical reports where required.

* Complete commissioning records, test results and handover documentation.

* Liaise with clients, project managers, engineers and network operators to coordinate commissioning activities.

* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, quality procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations.

* Provide technical support during project delivery and assist with site acceptance testing and final handover.

Skills & Experience

* Experience commissioning HV electrical systems, typically from 11kV to 132kV.

* Strong knowledge of protection and control systems, transformers, switch gear and substation equipment.

* Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and commissioning documentation.

* Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
