Marine Associate Director – AECOM
AECOM is a leading infrastructure consulting firm committed to environmental sustainability. We invite a Marine Associate Director to influence the environmental performance of marine development projects across offshore wind, interconnectors, subsea cables, ports, and coastal developments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage and coordinate multidisciplinary environmental inputs across a diverse range of marine projects.
- Prepare EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments, Environmental Statements, and support documents; including technical review of specialist chapters.
- Participate throughout all project life stages from early strategy, site identification studies, feasibility, option selection, outline design, detailed design, construction, to operation and maintenance.
- Ensure deliverables meet AECOM’s highest quality standards and compliance with rigorous quality management procedures.
- Apply project management skills to manage resources, budgets and timelines.
- Collaborate with integrated teams to identify environmental constraints, avoidance and mitigation solutions, and opportunities to deliver benefits.
- Maintain client relationships, manage internal teams and subcontractors, and represent AECOM to stakeholders.
- Promote AECOM’s environmental services internally and externally; develop business‑development opportunities and prepare fee and technical proposals.
- Degree in an environmental discipline (preferably a master’s degree).
- Relevant EIA consultancy experience with proven skills in preparing environmental reports and technical review of specialist chapters.
- Strong understanding of marine consenting and licensing regimes around the UK and ideally Ireland.
- Leadership experience coordinating technical specialists, managing client relationships and providing bespoke advice.
- Project management capabilities including programming, staff resources and budget management.
- Professional membership such as Chartered Environmentalist preferred.
- Commitment to innovation, continuous professional development, and line‑management and staff‑mentoring interest.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical reviewing and stakeholder engagement.
- Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, London Aldgate, Manchester, Newcastle, Plymouth and other UK offices.
